Groundwater Potential Mapping at Highly Populated Sub-districts of Thimphu District Using Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process

Groundwater is important when there an insufficient spring water supply for daily needs. The population growth and expansion of the cities demand more water. Thimphu capital city Bhutan facing shortage in recent times due to urban growth. This study aims find potential area groundwater using Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process. factors used this are elevation, slope, curvature, topographic wetness index, drainage density, normalized difference vegetation distance from fault rainfall distribution map, soil texture density. rating classes were carried out with help field experts. As per fuzzy weight, highest contributing factor a weight 0.215. Only 1.19% falls under very high zone curve map 70.37%. will concerned officials explore subsurface geophysical investigation test drilling borehole logging techniques.
